Hello, I’m Lillie, a surface pattern designer and illustrator. I recently graduated from Leeds Arts Univeristy with a First Class Ba (Hons) Textile Design degree.
As a printed textile designer, I specialise in creating narrative and conversational prints and patterns for various markets. I have a passion for observational drawing and love to visit botanical gardens to gain inspiration.
In my creative process, I make use of both hand-drawn and digital techniques, switching between the two throughout the design process. I enjoy experimenting with various media types, such as ink, liquid watercolour, gouache, pen, acrylic, and more. I also have an exploratory approach when it comes to using colour, employing a diverse range in my prints.
Designs are heavily influenced by thorough research. This guides my choice of themes and concepts, and I always keep current and future trends in mind. I also take into account consumer motivations when creating designs. I aim to provide consumers with visually appealing prints that tell a story, offering respite from the stresses of daily life.
